This - and many other articles in our local press down the months have told us that thousands of jobs will be created - 5,000 according to this report.
The trouble is - the Price Waterhouse Cooper report on the stadium suggest the total will actually be....err...just 80!
It begs the question really - when the expansion in numbers took place.

The above report extract suggests that once the stadium is built, 207 full-time equivalent jobs would be created, mostly in catering. These 207 lucky souls will be earning a combined total £5.8 mn. p.a. This equates to an average annual salary of over £28,000 p.a. Unless catering has become exceedingly lucrative for waiters, plongeurs, etc., I think there are some more liberties being taken with the truth...
ReplyDeleteBut supposing that 7 of those lucky workers are high flyers in catering management and consultancy, with combined remuneration of £3m, that leaves the other 200 to share what's left: £14kpa or £6ph for a 45hr week.
